Mission Statement of Clarin College PLC Unit

Clarin College's mission is to deliver excellence in further education to all stakeholders, to prepare our students for work and to enable them to achieve their full potential.

Objectives

  • To encourage students to achieve their full potential and foster a sense of inclusive learning
  • To enable students to progress to Higher Education Institutes via a QQI award
  • To develop links with industry through innovative work experience programmes and relevant field trips
  • To provide facilities that simulate the working world
  • To help students to develop the skills, knowledge and aptitude to take their place in the working world
  • To promote sport and extra-curricular activities to encourage a work-life balance for all staff and learners
  • To encourage lifelong learning

Courses Available

  • Please note, all courses are subject to a minimum number of students enrolled before the course will operate in a given academic year.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have completed the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied or its equivalent unless otherwise stated. For mature applicants, previous work experience can be used to gain entry.

Suitable for

  • Those who wish to up-skill to re-enter the labour market
  • Those who wish to access Third Level education via a QQI award
  • Experienced mature persons seeking a formal qualification

Duration

All courses run from September to May

Tuition is free on all courses however, students will be required to pay a registration fee.

Erasmus+

Clarin College is delighted to offer students the chance to participate in the Erasmus+ programme. This provides opportunities to both travel and gains work placement abroad in their chosen area.

Successful students will be given financial bursaries which cover travel, accommodation and living expenses.

All courses are certified by QQI Level 5 or Level 6.

Applicants are entitled to apply for Maintenance Grants through SUSI or for the Back to Education Allowance. The information available from your local Intreo Office.

Fees - Please read the following fees information carefully

€175 Student Services Fee applies to all learners from September 2022

An exam fee of €50 for QQI Level 5 and €80 for QQI Level 6 applies to all learners except

1. Those in receipt of Back to Education Allowance.

2. Medical Card Holders (valid at the time of Registration)
