Ursula Lowe - In Loving Memory

16-July-24
Ursula Lowe RIP

Dear Parents, Staff, and Students,

Yesterday, we received the heartbreaking news that our colleague and dear friend, Ursula, passed away. Although we were aware that Ursula was bravely battling illness, her passing came as an unexpected shock.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Our sincere sympathy goes out to her husband, Richard, and her sons, past pupil Gabriel and Joshua (3rd year). Our deepest condolences also extend to her family and extended family. Ursula's positive and friendly disposition will be greatly missed in the Willow Wing and throughout the corridors and classrooms of Clarin College.

When I first met Ursula, I recognised something unique and remarkable about her. It wasn’t just her warm South African accent or her infectious sense of humour, which was so welcome in our school. What stood out most about Ursula was her humanity, kindness, patience, and determination to empower the students in the Willow Wing to reach their potential. I hope she now enjoys peace and rest after bravely enduring such a terrible illness. My sincere sympathy also goes to those who were particularly close to Ursula; you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Our Beloved Teacher, Ursula

Waiting patiently, each with gifts so unique,

Someone to show us how much we could do

You were our angel, our guardian true.

You taught us to make kites, watched them soar high,

Your eyes gleamed with joy, a tear slipping by.

We measured our school, counted the steps,

The treat of the day, making chocolate crêpes!

Thursday experiments, always a success,

Planting and painting, our delightful mess!

Nothing but laughter and never a fuss,

We knew deep inside you laughed more than us.

Our cherished teacher, the difference you made,

A vow from our hearts, your memory won’t fade.

As we continue to grow, we want you to know,

“I became who I am, because you helped me so.”

In the soil, a tiny seed,

With your guidance and care, it grew strong and bright,

Nurtured by you, it blossomed so high.

A wonderful flower, reaching for the sky.

An anonymous collaboration by the Willow Wing staff.

For all those in the community of Clarin College who wish to pay their respects, a book of condolence is open at the reception of the school. For those wishing to pay their respects, a book of condolence will be available at the school reception from Wednesday to Thursday (10am - 4pm) and Friday, 19th July (10am - 1pm).

May her gentle and kind soul rest in peace.

Sincerely,

Daniel Hyland

Principal
