I am writing to inform you that I have been appointed to a temporary role with Oide, a support agency under the auspices of the Department of Education, supporting the professional development of school principals and deputy principals. My focus will be on school strategic planning, induction of new principals and deputy principals, and senior cycle reform. Consequently, an acting principal position was advertised internally within the school, and I am pleased to announce that Susan McGann has been appointed as Acting Principal of Clarin College for the academic year 2024-2025.
Susan has served as a deputy principal for over ten years both here and in the UK, with an exemplary professional record. Notably, she was a Deputy Principal at Burnt Mill Academy, a 1,500-pupil school in London. Her extensive experience will enable her to lead and manage our school with exceptional professionalism. Susan will assume responsibility for the school in late August when your child returns to school. I wish her every success in her new role.
